pv doesnt beat anyone much lately.

here is the situation. when you win a lot and the focus is on that team all the others start to resent it. when that happens then everything that happens from that town/team is seen negative. everything said seen as bragging, bosting. Now that Clintwood has become the favorite to win the LPD some of that will start to happen to them if they can keep it up for a couple years. It is pretty simple when you look at it like that. I can't stand Appy because of the stuff that has happened in the past and some of the fans. I may respect what they have done but I think a lot of fans / former players are feeling that about the Raiders now. If Clintwood goes on a three or four year tear then they will have all this "negative" feelings toward them and they will not really know why. People love the underdog till they become the favorite amd win too much for others taste.

I see alot hasn't changed sinced I played. I mean as I read this post I couldn't help but laugh and think This is same [censored] I heard when I played back in the day. We never won the district or had a season that was better then 8-2. Norton maybe the cocky team so of you all think they are, but is bragging if you back it up? So far these past few years Norton has been able to back it up. Some may call it arrogance but I like to call it confidence. May question is how many the Clintwood fans are gonna start acting with piss poor attitudes and become arrogant if they beat Norton?

I forgot about the Burton O-lineman being injured. That will likely have an impact, no doubt about it.

I dont think anything I said in my initial post was that bad. I just have strong feelings when it comes the Clintwood/Burton game. I don't like the way Burton coducts themselves on and off the field and it seems that there is pretty much bi-partisan agreement on this board to that feeling.

The Burton/Clintwood game has become quite a rivalry and both teams know that the Region D championship comes through either Lawson Fitchko or Ralph Cummins (actually Carl Smith, but you know what I mean). Like I said, I admire what has been accomplished at Burton over the past 5 years, however, I frankly just don't like them and love beating them simple as that.

It didn't happen last year or the about 14 out of the last 18, why would it this year?

I think the problem with Clintwood folks (and basically everyone else in the area) with Burton, is not Burton. It's not the kids, it's not the coaches. Some probably have some problem with both the aforementioned, but that's a small number. The problem is with some of the ones on here that do nothing but talk [censored] and make fooks of themselves and a large amount of adults that attend the games and embarrass the town and school. Folks like UTVols, Starbuck, and Shoe aren't the problem. It's those other fools that make everyone up there look bad.

I do think both teams are talented and will meet again so good luck to both in round 1, but I do think Clintwood is better, and unless they beat themselves they will win the game.

What should be a good competitive game between two very good teams is only going to be degraded with stuff like this.

Clintwood Coach Rick Mullins actually made a pretty good statement in the pre-season in regards to the prospects for this year...

"I've been totally pleased with the way we've handled the off-season,"? Mullins said. "I honestly think they're approaching it like last year was last year and this year is this year. If what
you did yesterday looks big then you must have not done much today."?

I am pretty sure that I didn't see anybody from JJK running around like jackasses last week at PV. The Tribe celebrated the win,but they expected it.
